2005's hybridizing statistics have just been posted. I have also added parentage photos to the 'Individuals' as well as 'Siblings' pages. This allows you to see up to two generations of parents used in creating each of the clones - "pictures are truly worth a thousand words, if not more!" Sometimes you can look at the results of a cross and say "yes, that makes sense." Other times you say "who would have every guessed something so beautiful could come from crossing those particular parents, Wow!"

As mentioned previously: there were 93 new hybrids involving Çat, danfordiae & sophenensis. This brings the total to 320 second generation and higher.

It was another great year for Reticulata Iris as you can see by some of this year's new hybrids. As always, I continue to be excited and amazed to see what new wonders Mother Nature reveals. I invite you to take a look at the 7 pages showing off this year's newest inovations. While you are at it, it wouldn't hurt to take a look at last years as well as the pages from various previous years to see how the hybrids have progressed overall.

Which do you like best? If you look closely I bet you'll pick a dozen, if not two, or even three (me, I now have more than 40 favourites - see the page "Ten Best").

At first glance you might dismiss 00-KN-5 and 00-KN-6 blow as "just blues." Look closely and you should be able to see what I saw when I was looking at the real flowers -- how strikingly unique they are. (Click their 'name' to see more pictures, or click their cross to see siblings.)

Don't you just love the yellow-orange colour of 98-EO-2. Too bad it and the other yellow-oranges such as 98-ND-2 don't hold their "orange". CLick on 98-EO-2 to see how the colour changes.

In the big and bold department 00-IU-1 and 01-IV-1 are at the top of the list. Gorgeous!
